Description

GAC or Granular Activated Carbon filter possesses a tremendous capacity to remove not only chlorine and unpleasant odors, but bad water tastes as well. They are offered in residential to commercial sizes (10” standard to 20” big blue), our filter cartridges can be used with most standard filter housings and as replacements in existing systems or assemblies.
Granular activated carbon filters can be used as pretreatment or post-treatment in residential and commercial reverse osmosis systems, or as a stand-alone at the point of use water treatment solution for clean, fresh-tasting drinking water.

Functions Of A Granular Activated Carbon Filter Cartridge:

Highly effective filtration of water for certain Chlorine, odor and improve the taste.
To keep your filter system operating effectively, replace this cartridge annually or by recommendation of your experienced water condition dealer.

GAC Filters Significantly Reduce the Following Contaminants:

  • Chlorine
  • Chlorine By-Products like trihalomethanes (THMs) –  A Group of organic chemicals suspected of being carcinogenic.
  • Bad Tastes & Odors
  • Turbidity (Cloudy Water)
  • Pesticides, Herbicides & Insecticides
  • Volatile Organic Chemicals – Organic Chemicals that turn into vapor.
  • Fit most standard residential and commercial housings, for easy replacement into existing systems

Applications of A Granular Activated Carbon Filter:

  • Home Drinking Water
  • Point of Use (POU) RO Systems
  • Under the Sink/ Under the Counter RO Systems
  • Counter Top Filters
  • Whole-House Filtration
  • Point of Entry Filtration
  • Commercial RO Pretreatment
  • Residential RO Pretreatment
  • Residential RO Post Treatment
  • Refrigerators
  • Ice Makers
  • Chlorine Removal
  • Color Removal
  • Odor Removal

Caution:

After installing this cartridge, pass 5 gallons of tap water through to flush out any carbon fine particles present in the unit.

What is granulated activated carbon (GAC) and what is its main purpose?

Granular activated carbon (GAC) has a huge surface area resulting from its extreme porous structure. Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) filters effectiveness depends on the flow rate and contact time with the water. If the flow rate is very high their efficiency could drop to as low as 0% but if the flow rate is slow their efficiency can even exceed those of different carbon forms.

What are the advantages of GAC vs. other forms of carbon?

For its primary function of taste, odor, and chemical reduction GAC is cheaper, very effective, and can be re-used.

DESCRIPTION

Activated carbon block filter is an ideal medium for treating contaminants in water, offering a large surface area for the adsorption of dissolved matter. Building upon this, the solid carbon block enhances the medium by preventing channeling, increasing surface contact time, and enabling custom pore formulation for mechanical filtration. Carbon Blocks are one of the most effective and widely used technologies in the Point Of Use (POU) drinking water treatment industry.
This comprehensive guide addresses key considerations a buyer should evaluate when designing a carbon block filter and selecting a supplier, including:
  • Activated Carbon for Water Filtration
  • Why Carbon Block is the Better Choice
  • How Carbon Blocks Filter Water
  • Compressed vs. Extruded Carbon Block Manufacturing Processes
  • Carbon Block vs. Other Filtration Technologies
  • Design Parameters
  • Performance Indication Device

Function Of An Activated Carbon Block Filter Cartridge:

Carbon block filters are made from activated carbon. Its function is to adsorb chemical impurities and contaminants in drinking water. Carbon filters are widely used to remove chlorine, taste, odor, and color.

Features An Activated Carbon Block Filter:

  • 5um filtration
  • Highly effective filtration of water for certain VOC’S, Chlorine, taste, and odor.
  • Low-pressure Drop. High-pressure performance.
  • Extra dust holding capacity.
  • Greater solids holding capacity.
  • Longer service life.
  • Various media are available.
  • No leaching carbon ash.

Benefits

Active removal of man-made and natural contaminants such as Chlorine, Benzene, Simazine, Lindane, and many more.

What Is The Difference Between Charcoal And Activated Charcoal?

  • Activated charcoal has been treated with oxygen to open up millions of small pores between the carbon atoms. Special manufacturing techniques have been used and this results in highly porous charcoals that have surface areas of approximately 300-1900 square meters per gram. These active charcoals are used to adsorb odorous or colored substances from a wide variety of liquids and gases alike. The importance here is absorption. When a material adsorbs something, it attaches to it by a specific chemical attraction. The immense surface area of activated charcoal gives it countless bonding opportunities. When certain chemicals pass close to the surface of the carbon, they get attached to it and are not allowed to pass any further. Activated charcoal is good at capturing certain carbon-based impurities and is also actively used to capture chemicals like chlorine.
CTO Carbon block filters are made from activated carbon and their specific function is the chemical adsorption of impurities and contaminants in drinking water. Carbon filters are widely used to remove chlorine, taste, odor, and color. By removing these unwanted byproducts, you can rest assured that you will have access to fresh and clean water.  Providing your home with pure, healthy, and clean water by using a filter. This Activated Carbon Block eliminates all contamination from your water, these filters provide you with a durable solution to your filtration needs.

Function:

CTO filter cartridge is widely used in industrial water treatment, household machines, and so on. It requires a CTO filter cartridge as the third stage of pretreatment. It is a link that cannot be removed during the pretreatment process. If the RO system is not equipped with a CTO filter cartridge, water directly enters. RO membrane, there are too many microorganisms that have been treated, bacterial viruses will block in the RO membrane, and the water has taste and color, the life of the RO membrane will be shortened, and the final quality of the water will also be affected.

PP SEDIMENT FILTERS

The polypropylene sediment removal filter cartridge is constructed by three layers three of heat melting polypropylene. Compared to monolayer, the application life of PP melt blown filter cartridge with three layers is much longer. Therefore, the maintenance of the filters can be cut down a lot Using the right heating way for PP fiber, can reduce the filtering resistance a lot and enlarge the water flow much The uniform space of fiber can achieve an excellent filtering effect As the filter cartridge is only made from polypropylene, the resistance to chemical reagents for both organic solvent and the inorganic solvent is all good.
Most water purifiers use a polypropylene sediment removal filter cartridge for the first stage of the filter element. The first stage of the filter element is not only directly affects the water quality but also affects the subsequent secondary or tertiary filtration effect and the life of the filter element. Therefore, the quality of the PP filter is especially important for water purifiers.
If the RO system is not equipped with a polypropylene sediment removal filter, the raw water directly enters the RO membrane. Excessive particles, precipitates, microorganisms, and bacterial viruses that are not treated will block in the RO membrane, and the life of the RO membrane will be shortened, which will also affect the quality of the final water.
